Relate to Another Story

The story Uglies relates to the movie The Lorax. All of the citizens of Thneedville live inside the city limits and the border of the city limits is a giant wall of metal. This city is in a futuristic society where vehicles only have one wheel, and you can buy fresh air in a can, bottle, or other sealed container. The story contains only one outcast, the Onceler. He was forced to live outside the city limits when he had destroyed an entire forest due to greed. One kid hears about the Onceler and goes to meet him. The kid eventually revolts against the city's big-wig, and plants the first real tree in years, right in the center of town.
